Ini-obong Effiong Etim “Inet” Ekanem is an Akwa Ibom born Nigerian Contemporary Gospel Singer; a Motivator, Educator, Graphics designer and Writer.

Early Life
Inet was born at St. Andrews Hospital Anua, Uyo to Deaconess Nkoyo and Most Rev. Effiong Etim Ekanem of Ekpene Ukim in Uruan L.G.A. – Akwa Ibom State. He is the 4th offspring in a family of five; has one older brother – Prince Ubong, two older sisters – Ekaette and Emem – and a younger brother – KufreAbasi.

He had few childhood friends and his family moved a lot due to the nature of his dad’s work as a Pastor with the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, which involved periodic transfers.

Inet wrote his first gospel song at age 16, after graduating from High School. By 2007 he got admission into the University of Uyo, to study Physics, but says he had his mind set on singing all along.

Career
While in the University, Inet formed a Gospel Music Group – The Praise Cells – for which he directed most of the songs he wrote at the time, but couldn’t successfully manage the group.

His first recorded single, titled You are Awesome (2016), was produced by Global Audio Factory, Nigeria.
His more recent work is a collaboration with Carthy Cakes & Creams’ CEO, Catherine Johnson, on a single titled “Mercy” (2018).

He has had a short spell working in the ICT industry as a Systems Administrator; has worked in the transportation sector, and has been very passionate about the education sector, which is evident in his creation of I-Spell Challenge – a pet project he started up in December 2014 as a spelling bee for children.

He is currently the C.E.O. of Inet Koncepts – an ICT firm involved in Graphics/Web Design, Content Creation, Digital Marketing, and day-to-day Computer Services.

Personal Life
At his spare time, Inet’s either writing, reading, playing video games or listening to music. His love of music attracts him to virtually all genre of music.
